This page explains how to cancel a booking made through TripXL, what charges apply, and how refunds are processed. This policy applies to all flight bookings made on tripxl.in or via the TripXL mobile app.
Cancellation charges and refund amounts ultimately depend on the airline's rules for your specific fare class. TripXL acts as a booking platform; the airline determines what is refundable. โ LEGAL REVIEW: confirm intermediary-status language with counsel

- Bookings cancelled after the airline's check-in window has closed
- No-shows (failure to board with a valid booking)
Even on non-refundable fares, statutory taxes are usually refundable.
4. Airline-initiated cancellations
If the airline cancels your flight (including schedule changes greater than โ LEGAL REVIEW: typically 2 hours; confirm, equipment changes, or operational disruption), you are entitled to:
- Full refund with no cancellation charges, OR
- Rebooking on the next available flight at no extra cost, OR
- Travel credit for future travel (where airline offers this)
DGCA regulations under the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR), Section 3, Series M, Part IV, govern airline obligations for cancellations and delays affecting Indian operations. โ LEGAL REVIEW: confirm exact DGCA reference and current version
5. Refund timelines
Once we initiate a refund (immediately upon confirmed cancellation), the funds reach your original payment method according to these typical timelines:
- UPI: 1 to 3 business days
- Credit / Debit cards: 5 to 7 business days
- Net banking: 5 to 7 business days
- Wallets: 1 to 5 business days
For airline-processed refunds (where the airline must return funds to TripXL before we forward to you), add 7-15 additional business days.
6. Partial cancellations
For multi-passenger bookings, you can cancel individual passengers subject to the airline's policy. Some airlines allow per-passenger cancellation with charges applied to each cancelled segment; others require cancelling the entire booking.
7. Name corrections vs cancellations
Name corrections (typos, misspellings) are different from cancellations and are typically handled at much lower cost. Contact bookings@tripxl.in within 4 hours of booking for the fastest resolution.
